SIA Reimbursements for DoD in 2 Easy Steps!

Department of Defense Families: Supplementary Instruction Allowance (SIA) can be used by DoD families based overseas with children who do not attend a DoD school. SIA may be approved for academic subjects generally offered by public schools in the U.S. but that are not offered by the child’s school at post. Supplementary Instruction Allowance can also apply for students who are struggling with academic subjects or who are eligible for a Gifted and Talented, or equivalent program.  For any questions, check with your NDSP Liaison at post. Here is how you get reimbursed in 2 easy steps!

1. Send an email request to your NDSP Liaison attaching the Twiga Tutors invoice for pre-approval (provided by us), Twiga Tutors Program Description (provided by us) and supporting documents (you can find the templates below!) to your NDSP Liaison. Your NDSP Liaison will check with your Regional Education Specialist for Non-DoD Schools Programs to seek approval.

2. When you receive an email with approval from your NDSP Liaison, let them know that Twiga Tutors is in the NDSP database and the payment can be processed based on the Invoice provided. That’s it! No payment is needed from you.
